Theater: The ACT (1st-8th) (5th period)
$285.00 – $335.00
Literacy, creativity, self-expression, body awareness, love of reading, and collaboration with others are just a handful of the advantages children gain by learning through the theatre arts! In this class, kids will act, play theatre games, learn the basics of improv, create characters, and perform in short skits and scenes with other members of the class. Fundamental skills and scene work will be the major focus, with stories chosen from a wide array of plays for young actors. While having fun and expressing their creativity, students will encounter a wide variety of settings, characters, and plots, learning to become effective storytellers and growing their knowledge of the world in the process.
Each semester will have a different thematic focus. The theme for Fall 2019 will be “Fairytales from Around the World”. The Spring 2019 theme will be determined by the interests of the students in the class. Each semester will end with a showcase performance!
