This INTERACTIVE class uses a systematic, hands-on approach to teaching students to improve their reading skills. Regardless the level of your young reader, this class will start with the basics of phonics and build on skills from there. It combines direct instruction along with a rich mixture of strong children’s literature to meet the needs of emergent readers as well as struggling readers. Early intervention is the best way to prevent and alleviate any reading difficulties in later years. All students benefit from success-oriented, direct instruction through the Orton-Gillingham approach. According
to the findings of the National Reading Panel, for children to become good readers, they must be taught Phonemic Awareness Skills, Phonics Skills, Fluency Skills and Application of reading comprehension strategies. This entire class is filled with FUN interactive activities for students.
