Course Description: The Mock Trial in Training class is geared towards developing the future Competition Mock Trial team. Students will spend the fall practicing argumentation, logic, and speaking skills. Students will practice the same skills as the Competition Mock Trial team, but will have the entire school year to practice and prepare. There will be be a greater emphasis on logic development, public speaking, and argument development.
In April, the Mock Trial in Training will host their own Mock Trial with 1 Arrow team competing against another. Students will need to be available during a weekday for the competition.
Here is a blurb from the Texas Mock Trial website: Thousands of high school students from across the state participate each year the Texas Mock Trial competition- a motivating, energetic, and challenging academic competition! The program provides a great way for students to gain an “insider’s view” of our judicial system, plus, they gain confidence speaking in front of others and have a lot of fun at the same time
