Course Description: FALL ONLY – This is a DUAL CREDIT course taught in partnership with
LeTourneau University. It will be worth a 1.0 High School credit and will earn 3 college credit
hours. This class meets in the Fall of 2022 only. It is a HYBRID class: 90 minutes of in-person
class time on Wednesdays and a 90 minute Zoom meeting on Mondays from 10:30am – 12pm *NOTE this is a time change from the original posted schedule*

Dual Credit courses are designed for advanced high school students who are reading on the college level. Student maturity and ability to communicate with the instructor are also important
considerations. Parents will not be permitted to contact the instructor regarding concerns and
will need to coach their child on how to communicate and navigate any issues that arise. Intro to
Psych is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Students will learn about
fundamental theories, problems, and procedures relating to human activity, as well as biological,
social, and cultural factors in development. Topics include: *neuroscience *development *gender
*sensation and perception *learning *memory *thinking *motivation and emotion *stress
*personality *psychological disorders and therapy *social psychology This class will also include
a Christian philosophy of psychology unit demonstrating how the word of God speaks to the
major issues in psychology. While all Arrow courses are taught from a Christian worldview,
students will be exposed to secular and humanistic thought in this course. Students will be
expected to actively participate in class discussions, projects, papers, and presentations.
This class has a 55 minute Monday zoom meeting in addition to the in-person Wednesday
class. (Monday Zoom meeting 10:30am – 12pm) – note that the time was changed from the original posted schedule

Expectations: 4-5 hours per week
Prerequisites: College reading level and emotional maturity to interact with the instructor
Grade Levels: 11-12 (Very advanced 10th graders upon Arrow approval)

Course Fees: $50 Fee to Arrow covers the cost of administrative fees and building use for hosting the course on campus. Paid at Registration.
