Course Description: SPRING ONLY – This course surveys the content and theological
message of biblical story. Special emphasis is placed on considering the biblical story of
redemption as a unified and coherent narrative of God’s ongoing work within his kingdom.
Understanding the Bible within historical, cultural, and literary settings is highlighted. Throughout
the course the students will begin to develop skills in interpreting the Bible with care and wisdom
as well as move toward finding and articulating their place within God’s story of redemption.

*THIS CLASS HAS A MONDAY ZOOM MEETING – 10:30am – 12pm

Expectations: This a Dual Credit course with about 1 hour/4 days a week commitment at
home.
Outside Projects: There is one paper and a video project with 5 illuminated manuscripts.
Weekly homework includes a weekly devotional and weekly responses to prompts which involve
knowledge of the text and the utilization of outside sources.

This class has a 90 minute Monday Zoom meeting from 10:30am-12pm in addition to the in-person Wednesday class.
