Meet our Teachers

Rebecca Zappasodi

Hi! My name is Becca Zappasodi and I get the tremendous privilege of being the Friday Arrow Director. I am married to my high school crush and we have 4 sons ranging from High School to 1st grade.  If I could label my journey into homeschooling, The Reluctant Homeschooler, would have fit nicely. Having many questions & feeling ill-equipped for such a large undertaking, the Lord graciously (& kindly. He’s so kind how He teaches us!) showed me that my sons are like arrows, that our home is the training ground, and that soon they will be launched into the world.  Ten years later, it seems that many days our home is literally a battlefield with nerf and airsoft wars, wrestling & constant activity. The Grateful Homeschooler would be a better label for this season, however. I am grateful for the gift of time, the conversations, the training opportunities, the laughter and the ways we get to see the creative, sovereign & faithful hand of God in the subjects we study together.  I’m also grateful for our teachers at Arrow and the ways they light a passion within their students to enjoy learning, all the while pointing them to see & savor Christ. He is worthy!

Adel Zappasodi

Hello Arrow Families!  My name is Adel Zappasodi and I have been married 43+ years to David.  Our large family includes 11 Grandkids from our 3 amazing sons and their beautiful wives!  I home schooled our sons from 1991 until 2002.  During that time I was involved in programs and ministries to home school families in the Houston area.  In 1997, I founded Home Run Ministries and with the Lord’s guidance and blessings the ministry has grown and 23+ years later it is a thriving ministry to home school families and students aged pre-school through high school.  In 2017, Rebecca, married to our oldest son David, asked me to help her launch Arrow Christian Academy. We formed under the non-profit banner of Home Run Ministries.  My roles have changed over the past 4 years and currently I am the finance director.  The Lord continues to bless and build the ministries and our faith is strengthened as we follow Him in every aspect of our lives. We are grateful for the Arrow community – especially the faithfulness of the staff and volunteers!

We have been a part of Valley Creek Church for over 15 years where we all serve in the children’s ministry. I graduated from Texas A&M and taught high school math in Fort Bend ISD before we had kids. I’m excited to get back in the classroom in a different way.

Robin Owens

Robin Owens has been married to Chris for 17 amazing years and they have 4 kids: Payne (15), Evie (13), Auburn (10), and Liam (6).  Robin has always loved schooling.  Graduating from the University of Florida as a chemical engineer, Robin furthered her learning by also earning a M.A.Th from SWBTS in Biblical Studies.  She has a passion for the Old Testament and really, there aren’t too many subjects she doesn’t love.  She loves how homeschooling affords more time with her children and teaching at Arrow has been a joy she hopes to continue for many years.

Kim Drechsler

Hi! I’m Kim Drechsler, and I am so excited to join the Arrow family! I have been homeschooling since 2006 and teaching since 1993. I fell in love with Steve (my husband of 28 years), teaching and reading at Texas A&M and still love them all to this day! By the grace of God! Our three children are 22, 19 and 12. I taught at Irving ISD for 8 years, my children’s preschool in Coppell for 3 years, and currently work part time at Coppell ISD as a reading interventionist. My family attends The Door Church where my husband is the Executive Pastor.

Rhonda Wesselius

My name is Rhonda Wesselius. I have been married to my husband Michael for 34 years, and we have 5 grown children, 2 daughters-in-law and a beautiful new grandbaby, Charlotte.  We homeschooled our 5 children for 24 years and graduated our youngest in 2019. We attend Rockpointe Church where we have served in marriage ministry for 3 years. We have loved growing our own marriage as we help other couples to apply the gospel to their marriages and see real transformation.

My passion is teaching history from a biblical worldview,  which was my favorite subject while homeschooling.  I have also taught history to homeschool groups for 8 years.  My other passion is all things French:  the country, the language, the foods, and most of all our French friends. I am excited to teach history and French again this year at Arrow.

Lanette Frost

Howdy! My name is Lanette Frost. I was born and raised in Texas. I’ve been married to my sweet husband Reuben for 17 years. Following graduation from Texas A&M, I worked many years in sales and recruiting before we began homeschooling our kids. Since then, I have taught several classes over the years in co-ops as well as at Arrow. I have always had a love for literature, especially poetry and fairy tales. I took upper level poetry classes while in college and have had a special love for that area since I was a young girl. I have also enjoyed teaching several Fairy Tales and Art classes and look forward to combining those areas into a fun, rich class experience at Arrow this year.

Jessica Jacobs

Teaching has been in my blood from a very young age and when I was in college the only decision I had to make about my major was what I wanted to teach when I got out. I landed on high school math and loved the 6 years I was in the classroom. I’ve been married for almost 17 years and both of our girls attend Arrow. They have always been homeschooled so they don’t have any idea how good they have it. This is my second year at Arrow and I am loving being back in the classroom. When not at school you will probably find me out in the garden, it’s my happy place!

Kristi Kersey

Mrs. Teeter has been home educating one or more of her four children for the past ten years.  She currently has three students at home ranging from first grade to 7th grade.
